Sunday, August 19, 2012: Departure for a week in Port-Barcarès of report and its region. Didn't do a lot of videos and some of my equipment is broken down, there will be only one video covering the whole week. Good viewing:

After a relatively sunny road, we come to Port-Leucate and Port Barcarès whose activities are explicitly given by road signs:

On the road, we meet eco drivers, a car wind, I had never seen it (it's just a matter of perspective and photo taken at the right moment).

We see the car from the lake of Leucate one side of the road and the Mediterranean Sea on the other side arrived. it's weird especially as Port-Leucate, Leucate, Port Barcarès (where we go) and Barcarès are stretched along the coast which is not very wide. We rented a small ''house'' we have provided the ground and a parking space. We cross the allotment and 50m later, we have our feet in the water. And the more we can see the boat beached, Lydia!

After unpacking the affairs and ate some cold chicken (we will eat for quite some damn meal pioc ...), we will walk on the beach where we see a pretty cat with blue eyes taking a nap in the shade:

One of the important places (if not the most iconic) Port Barcarès is obviously the Lydia. The history of this boat failed now houses the tourist office began in 1931 in Denmark. It is under the name of Moonta that cruise ship 90m long and can carry 280 passengers take to the sea links with Australia. In 1955, a greek shipping company bought the ship and renamed it to Lydia to connect Marseille to Beirut until 1966. In 1966 he was disarmed and sanded beach of Port-Barcarès to make it a tourist attraction. It will house a casino and a nightclub and a restaurant. Today the ship is still home to a nightclub, poker tables and slot machines. There is also the tourist office. The ship is visited by some and there is a temporary exhibition hall.

After visiting the Lydia and spent a little time at the beach, we go shopping for fresh and go home. I would like to acknowledge our two charming and helpful neighboring girls as we face just for a week (and that I could not say goodbye).
So much for the first day alone. The evening goes quiet as we watch that we could visit. This is decides, tomorrow, we'll go to the African Reserve of Sigean!
