Monday, July 13th, as every year, the city of Brive organizes its fireworks on the eve of the national holiday. So at 22:30 I find myself on the
bridge Cardinal, the camera on the wrist, the settings. There are many people who took to the streets to enjoy the show. Once the dark sky, two rockets
detonated in the sky, the music starts, the starting signal!
After half an hour of music, lights and explosions (haaa what I love the smell of gunpowder ... ahem ...), it's time to go. While for many, the next step will be a bar, a café terrace or party just for
me, it's back home and processing photos! The photos you just saw there ... I had until almost 2am.
The next day (well, after a night not very long), wake at 9:30 am to see the parade of 14 July Brive. Arrival in the square of the Guierle, I take a look to see where to ask me photos
and... a well-dressed man comes to me and greets me, holding my hand and wondering how it goes. After a second's reflection, I realize that it is the mayor of Brive Mr. Soulier.
It seems pretty nice.
After this little moment of opening day towards my site ...
I turned a little and bam, between 2 groups of soldiers from the 126RI, nobody ... I take advantage, 2-3 pictures of situations (which does not please me in the end) and I take out 70-200.
I begin to take some pictures, there the world around me, fortunately I am well placed, I could not find an angle of view like this. And comes the flag ... except that I had not tilted at the time ... but I
am in backlight! Argh! My camera will have to make do with the best settings and sensor dynamics (and also my error grrr!).
Well, it seems okay ... Let's go, it will go well like this, going to work! There are several conferment medals, including a Legion of Honor and medals for snipers.
Staying in the sun for over an hour, it is not good, and some soldiers are warmly dressed. So, little wonder that some felt bad and went through the rescue truck box. Soon after, when all
discounts decorations, the different groups will be set up for the parade on the Avenue de Paris.
Taking advantage as people move to put themself along the Avenue de Paris, I go around to take some pictures of 4 vehicles (2 of 2 firefighter and military) and a small booth dedicated
to the snipers (with FRF2 and PGM Hecate rifles):
The small round ended, I head to the Avenue de Paris, in full sun, no one, of course, given the weather, everyone was put in the shade. Everyone? No! For a village...
uh no, that's not it ...
So I put myself in a good place, I even support and nobody in front of me. Barely 5 minutes after I am set up, that the parade starts.
First comes the flag of the 126th RI, the soldiers of the 126th RI and two police officers with their security dog (canine brigade).
Then come the armored vehicles (Panhard recognition Vehicle) and VAB followed police vehicles (cars and motorcycles) and finally the fire engines (all-terrain vehicles
interventions, the big ladder, the zodiac, the anti-pollution cell).
And while the crowd closes the passage of the last fire engine, for my part, I will go home quietly, enjoying the heat. And star remains in the eye.
