Friday, October 7, 6am wake-up 'towards the main station in Geneva. Starting with my assistant Jeremy (aka Nanasse) in the 7:41 TGV. The opportunity to try to prepare at least what is
said during the story, but quickly turns to karaoke more or less silent during the 3:12 trip (our apologies to the neighbor in front of us launching some black eyes). We arrived
in Paris around 11:30 with half an hour late, but this does not prevent us to walk along somehow road map (helped by my compass), through a store ''Played Club'' fully devoted to
LEGO, prepared by Nanasse and I approved. Time passes and it is about 14h when we arrive at the Salon of Photography at the Porte de Versailles, the goal of our report. But before
following the story, here's the video of the day:
After the outside of the expo, here is the inside!
We are entering what could be a mecca for photographers. We visited a good amount of stands in relation to photography, including a material point of view.
The first thing that strikes us is a rather impressive photo printer.
Two of the stands to visit in the Salon de la Photo are, of course, those of Canon and Nikon, occupying a central place fairly consistent in the exhibition hall. We have very
little to reveal the Nikon stand, given that we had a mishap that caused the loss of several photos, but we shall return later. The stand of Canon is one where we spent the most
time, because there was not only something for everyone in photo equipment ...
But all the sizes too !
In addition to the models of devices and cameras, we were able to photograph ... other models ...
We could not forget to visit the Sigma stand, which gave us a big surprise ... I never thought to see or touch, let alone use ...
The tour continues! Many hardware manufacturers and photo accessories are present.
But we saw also a kind of ''mini-museum of the picture'' with all sorts of old models of cameras and video cameras to celebrate 30 years of digital photography.
After visiting a lot of exposure, a lunch break is needed and then go back in the hunt for recipients of cards. We then finished, but not without some surprising things
put in over the printer giant lense Sigma 200-500mm F2.8 APO EX DG above.
It is almost 17h when we leave the Porte de Versailles by tram to La Défense, to the delight of Nanasse, who wanted to buy the birthday of her mother, but was
also a good place to visit for our report despite HDR in the overcast sky. All with views of the ark and the Arc de Triomphe, by far.
It is almost 19h and we have to go again at the Porte de Versailles in order to find a friend ... we will not return because we just hung in stores of Defense, we had to wait another
subway because the first three were full, we were wrong path with the line RER C and her 7 terminus (What The FRAK ?!?), but we arrived safe and sound ... with about 1:30 late!
So we missed our friend ... However, we waited another (better than us in terms of delay with almost 4 hours late (around 1 hour which attributable to the SNCF)), Sylvie (false name),
in the cold the entrance of the Parc André Citroën.
Nanasse is cold...
As in many of our stories, the little vial of ''Tasoif'' (a mixture of mint syrup and rum, vodka fault) out of the backpack and just participate in the picnic in
the evening with his friend the ''Devil-Ape'' (indescribable taste, but high in alcohol ...) and launches a series of strange reports filmed during the evening
appreciated by Sylvie. Admittedly, Some people were cold.
We end up wandering at night in Paris, especially in search of ''over-pee'' until 6am, when we decide to find the Gare de Lyon and Montparnasse for our respective returns.
Once at the Gare de Lyon, is expected to take the 8:09 train, which leaves time to Nanasse to finally find a birthday present for his mother. There followed a string of
yawning and rubbing eyes until 7:48 when I put my bag strap under my foot. At 7:50 of showing the way of our being, we leave the seats in the hall to join our train and we
realize that we have stolen the bag containing one of our cameras with the grip batteries, its objectives, flash and SD cards in addition to almost all pictures of the
report. The fact that we realize combined to shift the police station nearest us awake and more from us 1 hour later, but this did not prevent him from eventually we doze
(and snoring as ringers) in the train home after 26 hours of reporting ...
I want to thank Nanasse for the invaluable assistance he has given me to write this report (it was written almost entirely). And hoping that the theft we learned that some will
even dare to attack a bear just because it has 26 hours of walking in the legs. Prudence, therefore, all those who make out in the big cities.
